Sonoma Plein Air Foundation funds the A.R.T.S. (Art Rewards The Student) program at Sonoma Valley Museum of Art.  This program brings the museum to 4th graders from Sonoma Valley schools and culminates in a wonderful exhibit at the museum; however, because of the pandemic, the 2020 show went online.  

As an example, at Sassarini Elementary School the students participated in conversations about power, about the special skills comic book heroes have and about their desired special powers.  After naming their special powers, they then built their own iconic self-portraits with shiny, beaded mixed mediums.  Click "Student Icons, The Power of You and Me" to see the show.
