A CELEBRATION OF OUTDOOR PAINTING TO BENEFIT ARTS EDUCATION IN SONOMA VALLEY
Join us September 9th - 14th
for the 2024 Sonoma Plein Air Festival!
Now in its 22nd year, the Sonoma Plein Air Festival brings nationally-renowned artists together for a week of painting in Sonoma Wine Country and across the region to Marin, San Francisco and the stunning coast.
Festival week includes Quick Draw at Sonoma's Tuesday night farmers market, a beautiful Friday night Gala, and a Saturday Art Show and Sale of the Artists’ works-of-the-week on historic Sonoma Plaza.
Sonoma Plein Air is the primary funder of K-12 arts education for our local public schools and non-profits. Proceeds from our annual festival provide for grants funding art programs, equipment and supplies for the children and youth of Sonoma Valley.

Since 2002, we've granted over 2 million dollars
to youth art programs in Sonoma Valley.
These numbers reflect the most current school-year grant requests, granted.
Since 2002, the Sonoma Plein Air Foundation has provided funding for local K-12 art education including kilns, murals, mosaics, art classes, supplies, maker rooms, museum visits and so much more.
We are able to do this each year thanks to the generosity of each professional artist taking part in our Sonoma Plein Air Festival, our patrons, donors, volunteers and art buyers!
The arts help our students with expression, self-discovery, self-esteem, and stress relief. The arts build thinking and problem-solving skills, and engagement in learning. They enhance lives and the community itself, binding us together, feeding our curiosity and growing joy.
