The 20th Anniversary Sonoma Plein Air Festival
September 5-10, 2022

Art Show and Sale on Historic Sonoma Plaza • Saturday, September 10

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS!

The Sonoma Plein Air Festival is held annually in September, bringing over 30 juried, nationally-acclaimed artists to Sonoma for a week to paint throughout the region, then show and sell their work to benefit youth arts education in Sonoma Valley.

The Festival is produced by the all-volunteer Sonoma Plein Air Foundation. The Art Show and Sale and a Gala Dinner event are the primary source of funding to provide arts and creativity education for public school students in the Sonoma Valley.

You can be part of the 20th Anniversary celebration of Sonoma Plein Air Festival!

Over the past 20 years, the Sonoma Plein Air Foundation has  provided funding for kilns, murals, mosaics, art classes, maker rooms and so much more. We have funded local projects and provided support to help  the children and youth of Sonoma Valley grapple with disaster, dislocation, and anxiety.

Creativity and the arts helps them with self-discovery, self-esteem, and stress relief. Art enhances our lives and the community; it binds us together, feeds our curiosity and creates shared joy.
There will be a wide variety of volunteer opportunities at the Sonoma Plein Art Show & Sale at the Plaza on September 10. As a volunteer you will benefit as well by participating in one of the most fun & beautiful fundraisers in Sonoma Valley.  You will meet nationally acclaimed talented artists, see glorious plein air paintings and talk to art enthusiasts from the Bay Area and beyond.

Anyone who is interested can help!  Please click here to sign up using our volunteer form and our volunteer coordinator will contact you.

"Art keeps kids in school, too often young adults get lost in this world they do not feel a part of. In Art classes at Sonoma Valley High School, students find their voices, new skills, passions and inspiration. Our students are problem solvers, creative and our world's modern innovators."
