Since 2002, over a million dollars have been granted to youth art programs in Sonoma.

2017 Sonoma Valley Public School Grants

Dunbar School

Art at Lunch Program with teacher and projects for 3 grade levels; Supplies for art room and teachers, 
School Mural Project, SDC students Special Day Class.

El Verano School

Art in Action Program, Poetry and Art public art project, Individual/group poems memorialized on solar panel, teacher, paint supplies, artist.


Flowery School

Art in Action Program, collaboration with ARTescape for after school art, School mural (paint, consultant), K-3 art instructors.

Prestwood School

Clay, drawing, painting and instructors, puppets, basket weaving, print making, 3-D sculptures,  

Sassarini School

Local artists’ fees, clay, glaze, oil pastels, water colors, tempera, photographic experience in grades 4-5, SDC students.

Altamira Middle School

Pictographs and petroglyphs, Renaissance techniques (large painting in VanGogh style), ceramics, color wheels, paint in Thibaud style, leather bracelets, wall hangings and coasters, field trip to SFMOMA.

Adele Harrison Middle School

Native American petroglyphs, rock carving, techniques from Renaissance, origami paper bookets and birds (copper tape and LED lighting), ceramics, paint in triplets (Thibaud), Japanese NoTan paper art, SFMOMA trip.

Sonoma Charter School

Art projects

Woodland Star School

Woodworking, sewing, batiks using natural dyes, frame stretchers, oil pastels, wool, embroidery needles, yarn, felting project.

Special Education Classes

Grades 6-12, tye dye, felt, sketch books, hammers, pliers, canvases,

Sonoma Valley High School

Bas relief sculptures, clay totem, landscape diorama, lino-cuts, stencils, pinch pots, coil vessels, figure, & surrealist line drawing,  printmaking, box assemblage, pin hole cameras, darkroom processing, social/digital photography, photo collage. Supplies: sketchbooks, safety glasses, glazes, assorted acrylics, lino plates, inks,charcoal pencils, vinyl, ceramic wheels pottery tools, film, batteries, mat boards,frames, SFMOMA, SVMA, diRosa, Pier 24 field trips.

Creekside High School

Make & donate blankets to Sonoma Blanket Brigade, “permanent but changeable” outdoor art for campus to be mounted on exterior walls in the garden and back walls, and kits, acrylic paint, raw canvas, wood, nails, glue.

2017 Community Grants

Sonoma Community Center

Painting activity at Plaza during SPAF festival, Scholarships for Mentoring Alliance art lessons (mentees), and Trashion Fashion, Clay Day Camp and Teen Clay Camp with new ceramics-in house artist, sculpture and encaustic materials, paint, clay, and glaze.

Sonoma Valley Museum of Art

Bringing 4-5 grades in SVSD, 200 hours of instruction, 29 classrooms, 800 students, 3,200
individual art experiences, class size 24-34, themed around Joseph de Lappe, art supplies, teaching artists honoraria.

Arts Guild

"Small but Grand” show of 8x10 canvases, gallery space/printing & reception.

Art Escape

Mobile art studio (VanGogh) to Prestwood, after school with Flowery 3,4,5, Fridayafter school, Flowery Plein Air painting, SDC, paints, watercolor, acrylic, foam core, glue, pencils brush, clay, posterboard, art pens.
